It seems appropriate to write my first blog on Thanksgiving. I am so grateful to the Lord for my new career and business. I have met and had the privilege to bake for families who have been impacted with allergies. Not to mention, the beautiful people who wanted to have a celebration and provide baked goods that everyone can enjoy. It is a true blessing to provide this service.
I understand how socially isolating it is to have food allergies. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with a debilitating form of migraines called hemiplegic migraines. Basically, these migraines mimic a stroke and I experience neurological effects that can last for days. There are several different triggers to these migraines but the most life changing has been food triggers. The major food triggers are MSG, tyramine, eggs, and soy and through medication and diet my migraines are more manageable.
The Lord used the pit of migraines to give me a dream and a purpose in my life. Once my husband and I went out on faith to start this business the Lord supernaturally opened doors for us. Even through setbacks, God is teaching and equipping us to do His work through this business.
I pray over my baked goods for healing and also a hedge of protection around these children and adults with food allergies. I pray that this blog and Freely Simple can increase the awareness of the seriousness of food allergies facing our society today.
I am looking forward to sharing this journey with you.
